Finial Software, Inc. is located in the South End neighborhood of Boston. The South End was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 as the largest urban Victorian neighborhood in the country. It encompasses over 300 acres of land which was filled along the necklands and developed during the mid-nineteenth century. Substantially intact, the South End was designated a landmark district in 1983.

One of the characteristics of the Victorian row house is the ornate ironwork on the fencing and windows. On the following pages is a brief survey of some of the more interesting finials in the neighborhood.
